Ghanaian dancehall act and current BET Award winner, Stonebwoy says the Best International Act, Africa award was received on stage and not backstage as it has been reported.
Stonebwoy who was in chat session with Ghana’s Hitz FM, explained that the pre-recorded show from the event was aired live on the ‘Lala Anthony’ show, which is a widely viewed television show in London, and the singer still cant fathom why people call it backstage.
According to Stone; ‘So many people saw me on television, live on Lala Anthony, I don’t know any word which says prerecorded is backstage’, he explained.
The artiste however, said his greatest wish was for Ghana to be on every prestigious stage, which has an African category.
‘We even want to perform on the BET stages, and even on the GRAMMY stages and any other prestigious stage which has an African category in there, that is my dream and my wish, I don’t only want to receive awards on stages’, he said.
During the time of the BET Awards, Nigeria’s Wizkid, Yemi Alade and Ghana’s Fuse ODG were some of the acts that slammed the award organizers for disrespecting African acts by handing them awards backstage hours before the main show starts.
Hmm then what is going on?
